This project considered 350 hectares of currently undeveloped land for a forecasted population of 24,000 residents in the rapidly-growing city of Fort McMurray. It was based on transit oriented development, winter city strategies, public realm concepts, and walkable block patterns and street design. It emphasized working with the natural environment, creating neighbourhood mixed use nodes and sustainability principles.
