Sandalack + Associates is a Calgary-based firm of registered landscape architects and planners. Our project approach as evolved through several decades of research and practice, and has resulted in numerous professional awards. We also contribute to the professions and to the academy through publications.

Bev Sandalack is a landscape architect and planner and Principal of the firm. She is also Professor and Associate Dean (Academic) Environmental Design and Planning in the Faculty of Environmental Design and Director of the EVDS Urban Lab, a research group at the University of Calgary. She is a Fellow of the Canadian Society of Landscape Architects and Member of the Canadian Institute of Planners, and serves the professional community as Chair of Competitions of the International Federation of Landscape Architects, member of the Fort McMurray Design Review Panel, and was member and chair of Calgary’s Urban Design Review Panel for 8 years. She is a frequent invited speaker at local, national and international conferences. 

Francisco Alaniz Uribe is a planner and urban designer and Associate in the firm. Prior to joining S + A in 2004, he was an urban designer and registered architect in Mexico, with project experience that included institutional buildings, small housing complexes, urban parks and large residential communities, and he continues to practice architecture in Mexico. Over the past decade with Sandalack + Associates, he has lead several award-winning downtown revitalization, urban design, open space planning and urban planning projects in towns and cities in western Canada. He combines this professional work with his academic appointments as Sessional Instructor in the Faculty of Environmental Design and as Research Associate in the EVDS Urban Lab at the University of Calgary.
